Remember when all seemed within reach?
When you’d skip and dance down dark streets?
When obstacles seemed like cracks in the pavement
That were meant to be avoided or simply walked over?
Remember when singing made you smile?
And eating didn’t mean you’d have to jog a mile?
Remember when falling in love was the goal,
And doing it a million times made you feel whole?
Remember when you didn’t have time to remember
Because you were simply living and giving and reaching and doing,
And it was fine to want because it was a given you’d get?
That was when you embraced your wild streak
And you ran in the park with barefeet
And you laughed til you stomach hurt and you spit up your yogurt.
It would be great to be that you again –
